Amber Fort - Rajasthan
Amber Fort - Rajasthan
The Amber Fort was built by
Raja Man Singh I on the hill alongside the Moatha Lake in 1592. It was
constructed for the capital’s protection. The Amber Fort had a subterranean
passage that leaded to the Jaigarh Fort that was situated on the nearest hill.
The second fort was built for the army of Raja Man Singh I. Also it was planned
to use it in case of the war for the protection of the royal families.
This fort is a typical
example of the Rajput’s lifestyle and shows all the majesty of the rich rulers.
It is a unique object of Indian art and architecture. The Amber Fort combines
both Muslim and Hindu architectural styles, that’s why it looks so fantastic.
The construction is built using red and white sandstones in order to make a
protecting structure from outside. But the interior is totally different: it
contains the elements of the Mughal style’s ornamentation and has a lot of
mirrors and precious stones. The fort’s walls are also designed with the tiny
mirrors and mosaics.
An interesting feature of
the Amber Fort is a location on the high hill that is called the Hill of the
Eagles. That’s why there are 2 available ways to get there. The first is to use
a ramp that leads on the top and the second is to ride on the elephant. The
second one is a traditional and easier way to get the Amber Fort and to come
back.
It is very interesting and
exciting to visit this place of interest because it is hard to forget the trip
on the elephant and the beauty of the royal palace and its surroundings.
